Most importantly, when i open my application from localhost, the ModalPopup is working fine but not from the different domain. I have MultipleIEs installed in my machine. When i visit the website using Safari browser from my system, the popup is in inaccessible mode. Then one of my collegue suggested that if we have installed MultipleIEs, then ModalPopup will not work in Safari browser. Then, to confirm i checked with another system where there is Safari installed same version as i have but that machine doesn't have MultipleIEs installed.

It worked there. So, now the question turns out this way. This only happens when the website is in a different domain and not localhost. In Safari thru localhost, things are working as expected.
